At Stable Minds, we understand that meaningful mental health support does not always happen in a clinic room. Many people feel safer in familiar environments, surrounded by their own community. Our outreach services are designed to meet people where they are, offering psychotherapist-led support across schools, care settings, community spaces and large-scale events.

Everything we deliver is grounded in trauma-informed practice, neurodiversity awareness and emotional safety. We focus on connection first, because when people feel safe, they can begin to process, grow and rebuild confidence.

Outreach in Schools

We work with primary and secondary schools to provide tailored mental health provision that reflects the unique needs of each setting.

Our offer includes:

  • One-to-one counselling for pupils
  • Small group therapeutic interventions
  • Whole-class workshops around emotional literacy and regulation
  • Staff wellbeing sessions and reflective spaces
  • Parent workshops where appropriate

We support children and young people experiencing anxiety, low mood, trauma, bereavement, emotional dysregulation, self-harm and suicidal ideation, alongside early emerging concerns. We are particularly experienced in supporting neurodivergent pupils and those who may mask their distress in school.

Sessions are always adapted in collaboration with senior leaders and safeguarding teams. Our aim is to strengthen the emotional resilience of pupils while easing pressure on teaching staff and pastoral teams through early intervention.

Outreach in Care Homes

Mental health does not diminish with age. In care settings, we provide gentle, person-centred support that honours lived experience and the impact of trauma across the lifespan.

Our outreach in care homes can include:

  • One-to-one therapeutic conversations
  • Group reminiscence and reflective sessions
  • Emotional wellbeing workshops
  • Support following bereavement within the home
  • Staff reflective practice spaces

We work sensitively with individuals living with dementia, complex health needs and long-standing trauma histories. Our approach is relational and paced, recognising the importance of dignity, autonomy and being truly heard.

Community Events and Local Outreach

Stable Minds regularly delivers pop-up wellbeing spaces within local communities. These may take place in partnership with care communities, local organisations or as part of targeted outreach into areas where access to support is limited.

Our outreach vehicle enables us to travel into rural and underserved locations, reducing barriers such as transport and cost. Within these spaces, we offer:

  • Drop-in emotional support
  • Signposting and practical guidance
  • Short therapeutic check-ins
  • Creative and sensory regulation activities
  • Information about ongoing counselling pathways

This model supports early intervention and helps prevent difficulties from escalating to crisis.

Festivals and Large-Scale Events

Public events can be overwhelming, particularly for children, young people and neurodivergent individuals. Our sensory safe space and outreach presence create calm within busy environments.

At festivals and community events, we provide:

  • A regulated, quiet space for emotional decompression
  • Sensory resources and grounding tools
  • Brief supportive conversations
  • Safeguarding-informed responses where needed
  • Signposting to longer-term support

For some, this may simply be a moment to regulate and return to the event feeling steadier. For others, it may be the first time they disclose how they are truly feeling. We approach each interaction with care and professionalism.

Why Outreach Matters

Across all settings, the principle remains the same. Mental health support should be accessible, timely and human. By stepping into schools, care homes, community venues and festivals, we reduce stigma, remove practical barriers and normalise conversations around emotional wellbeing.

Outreach is about visibility, partnership and prevention. It is about ensuring that no one is left without support simply because they could not reach a service.

If you are a school leader, care provider, event organiser or community partner and would like to explore working together, we welcome a conversation. Stable Minds is here to stand alongside your community with warmth, expertise and integrity.
