Meet Milly Peel: CEO & Founder | Stable Minds CIC

We are proud to introduce Milly Peel, the visionary CEO and Founder of Stable Minds CIC. Milly's journey is fuelled by a profound passion for the power of being truly heard and treating each individual as unique. Her unwavering desire to support her community has driven the establishment and growth of Stable Minds into a vital adult mental health service.

The very essence of Stable Minds began with a

rainbow umbrella and a bench in the park. In the middle of lockdown, Milly set on The Moor in Knutsford with nothing but an open heart and a quiet offer to listen. No signs. No forms. Just a space for people to sit and be heard. What started as one simple act of kindness quickly became something more. A connection. A movement. A safe space. That moment planted the seed for Stable Minds: a community-led service built for people who were falling through the gaps. People who were waiting too long. People who were tired of being bounced from one service to another. People who just needed someone to really listen.

Over the past 10 years, Milly has dedicated herself to helping individuals in need, collaborating with various charities and organisations. This extensive experience culminated in her own impactful venture during lockdown in Knutsford: 'My Umbrella, Me, and PTSD,' which provided crucial support to residents. It was through this work that Milly recognised the pressing need to establish a permanent, dedicated mental health service, leading to the foundation of Stable Minds CIC.

Milly is a fully qualified integrative counsellor, bringing a heart for listening and a genuine interest in each individual's unique life story. She is passionate about providing a unique safe space where clients feel truly safe to be themselves and openly explore what is troubling them. Milly adheres to the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) Ethical Framework and believes every client has the potential to succeed given the right therapeutic conditions. Her therapeutic approach skilfully integrates three core modalities: Person-Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Transactional Analysis (TA). Milly also enjoys working creatively within therapy, which enables clients to explore their thoughts and feelings from a different lens. Beyond her foundational role at Stable Minds, Milly has extensive experience helping those in need through previous positions at a crisis centre and, more recently, through her placement with Acorn recovery projects. Her real passion for caring for people is evident in the encouraging, supportive, and non-judgmental space she consistently provides.

Milly’s vision for Stable Minds CIC is to continue empowering individuals to navigate their mental and emotional challenges, fostering personal growth and transformation within the community. Her commitment to our values ensures that every person we support receives the compassionate, tailored care they deserve.
